This is the first in a series of reviews on drivers. This review is on the Taylor Made Tour Burner TP.
On the range, what stood out the most is how Taylor Made designed the club to minimize any spin. Even on mishits, the ball would still come out fairly straight. When swinging extra hard the ball sliced pretty bad at the moment of impact, but the fade was reduced as compared to the R7 driver. This club is worth a look for any golfer who is experiencing too much spin off the tee. Hitting into the wind and it was carrying about 270 yds.
One round with the Burner was all it took to be hooked. Drives were carrying 270-285 and rolled anywhere from 20 to 30 yards. It took about 4 drives to adjust, but shots were going straight as an arrow after that initial feeling out phase.
This should be attributed completely to the Burner. The club is a bit on the pricey side, though.
